Ruby Tuesday

Here is part of the sunken remains of the USS Arizona. Over 1,177 Arizona crew members died during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. This photo was taken at the USS Arizona Memorial. If you every get the chance make sure you visit this site in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Here is a shot of my son, John, and his pet Ball Python, 'Scalia'. Ball pythons are fairly tame and grow to about 5 feet.
The last photo is a Anthurium plant from Hawaii, growing out of a lava rock. I think athurium flowers are so perfect and always remind me of Hawaii. Hawaii will have its 50th birthday next year and we plan to be there to celebrate.

Thanks for the bit of history. I don't care much for snakes though!

I like the photo of the USS Arizona. Interesting shot to use for Ruby Tuesday.

I'm glad your son likes pythons; they don't do much for me!

The Anthurium plant is simple and elegant.

Anthurium, like nature of Hawaii, is so tropical yet offsets the jungle greens with bright flowers, like the red here!

Pearl harbor is becoming too forgotten by the young. We can never forget. If I ever make it to hawaii, I want to see the Arizona

I agree that the Arizona Memorial is a 'must see' for visitors to Hawaii (and residents, too). I like your anthurium plant. But your son's snake? Well, you can keep that there where you live. (Never did care for snakes, and thankfully we have no snakes in Hawaii.)

I've never been to Hawaii but I have a read a lot about Pearl Harbor.

The python seems like an unusual pet but your son looks happy playing with it.

Pearl Harbor and Hawaii are definitely on my "to see" list. Wonderful shots! (except the snake, I'm scared of them :o)

What a great Ruby Tuesday post!
This pictures of the remains of the USS Alabama "speaks" better than words!
Hawaï is too far from us, of course. But thanks to people like you, I visit little by little fantastic places all over the world. Hope you'll post pictures of your Hawaï trip.
Well, your son John is much more courageous than I am. Even with a baby Python!

I too have used the USS Arizona for a meme. It makes a wonderful statement. Thank you for continuing to spread the message.

I've been to Pearl Harbor twice - a felt a strange sense each time looking down in the water - a reverence I suppose.
No snakes thanks!
Lovly athurium - very tropical.

Some day I hope to go to Hawaii and Pearl Harbor. If I knew your son was into snakes I would have called last week for help in getting one out of my garage. The Anthurium plant is beautiful
